Our Work

The Beyond Borders project was initiated in 2012 by a group of young women from Armenia and Turkey as a response to the lack of innovative and empowering platforms where women could engage across the closed Turkish-Armenian border to build trust and solidarity. This project aims to establish a cross-border network between Armenian and Turkish women; to build solidarity between women from both countries and to empower them to be active promoters of peace, especially as women who are mainly excluded from the political processes across the closed Turkish-Armenian border; to develop an innovative approach to trust-building and foster constructive collaboration between women across the closed Turkish-Armenian border via non-verbal communication techniques, storytelling and performance art methods.
